Who doesn’t remember those
loveable blue creatures the smurfs? These fictional creatures, which first
appeared in a comic strip, soon came to television with their own cartoon
series. The storylines were of adventure with the smurfs constantly trying to
outrun Gargamyle, the evil character that no plotline would be complete without.
These blue creatures looked basically the same with white pants that contained a
hole for their short tale, and wearing a white cap.
The Smurfs were a phenomenon in their day, which
peaked in the 1980s. Although the time has long past for both the comic strip
and the television series, collectibles of The Smurfs are still very big today
with thousands of items available and more being constantly sought after. This
collector’s item, which shows a “Chimney Sweep” figurine does stray from the
traditional white uniform with the smurf being dressed up in a dark brown
jacket, light brown pants, and brown shoes. This smurf is also shown carrying a
chimney sweeper and a broom.
