In June 1961 a new comic book was
published by Marvel Comics called Amazing Adventures which featured different
monster, science fiction and suspense stories.
In December 1961 the comic was renamed Amazing Adult
Fantasy with issue #7 and remained as such till issue #14.
In August 1962 issue #15 was released under the name
Amazing Fantasy and for a mere 12¢ readers got to see the first appearance of
Spider Man in an 11 page, 2 part story written by Stan Lee and illustrated by
Steve Ditko.
Amazing
Fantasy #15 is not
the most expensive comic in the world, but it is still a cool addition that
any comic book collector would love to have.
Well read copies can be had for a few thousand dollars,
but if you like your collectables in pristine condition be prepared to shell out
well over $100,000.00 USD.
