Well, to tell the truth The Lady Tennant Stradivari violin was sold by
Christie’s New York in April 2005 at an auction for $2.03 million.
Not only was this amount the highest ever paid for
a musical instrument it also received the most bids.
The violin was made in 1699 and the first owner was
Charles Philippe Lafont. It received its name from Charles Tennant who purchased
the violin for his wife Marguerite Miles in 1900.
