WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What are the most expensive guitar picks in the world?
There’s no doubt that if you’re a
guitarist looking for a pick, you’ll want one that will show your personality
and have that tiny bit of uniqueness that makes the way you play your guitar as
special as the music that comes out of it. But just how much would you pay for
that very special pick? If you’re looking for something that’s truly one of a
kind, you’ll have to fork over $5,000 AUS, which is about $4,674 USD and
actually, what you’ll be getting are two of a kind!
The most expensive guitar picks are sold as a pair
by Starpics, an Australian company that specializes in making very unique (and
expensive) guitar picks. This company creates these plectrums by using only
precious metals, which help substantiate the claim that every pick they sell
will last a lifetime. But what sets the world’s most expensive guitar picks
apart from other picks in the store?
They are made from meteors. But not just any
meteors, these guitar picks were made from Gibeon meteors, which are about 4
billion years old. This Gibeon meteorite was found in Namibia, Africa in 1836
and the sale and distribution of the meteorite was banned by the local
government. However, that did not stop those who wanted to make an income off of
the precious metal as 25 tons of the meteorite managed to still be retrieved and
sold. And if you are lucky enough to be able to spend that amount of money on
guitar picks, you may not even have to tell people what they’re made from. One
of the things that make these guitar picks so extraordinary is the Widmanstatten
lines that can be found on them. These lines have been created naturally, during
the meteor’s cold travels through space.
