What is the most expensive stove in the world?

CREATED: May 13, 2010

If you’ve ever needed to buy a new stove after your old one’s conked out, you know just how expensive they can be. And it’s true, stoves come with so many different bells and whistles today that they practically season and mix the food for you. But there’s one stove that beats any stove you could buy from an appliance store, and it’s pretty much kept it to the basics too. This kind of stove has been heating homes as well as soup for many generations now.

That type of stove is a woodstove. And it’s indeed a woodstove that’s the most expensive in the world. This particular woodstove though has been designed by sculptor Joseph Michael Neustifter. His various sculptures have been displayed in over 80 churches throughout the world, but you can have this particular piece of art in your own home – if you can afford it.

The woodstove has been given the name of the Iron Dog 05 Huraxdax. The stove has an 82% degree of efficiency and can heat up to 1,000 square feet of domestic living space. The stove stands at only two and a half feet tall, and each one takes about two months to create. You can order them in either cast iron, silver or gold and of course, it’s the gold stove that’s going to cost you the most. A gold Iron Dog 05 Huraxdax has a price tag of $4 million, but that’s not the only thing hefty about this stove. Each gold Iron Dog stove also weighs about 260 kilograms.
