What was the most expensive computer virus in the world?
As long as our records are not
infected, we believe to have found the world's most expensive computer virus.
On January 31 2004 SCO Group Inc. in Colorado started
experienceing DDOS attacks thanks to the MyDoom worm.
After all was said and done an estimated $38.5 billion
USD in economic damage was done.
The SCO Group offered a $250,000 reward for the capture
of the creator of the MyDoom.A virus and later Microsoft offered a $250,000
reward for the capture of the creator of the MyDoom.B virus. The rewards have yet
to be claimed.
