WORLD'S
FASTEST
ELECTRIC CAR
THE
LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG
LAST
What is the
world's fastest electric car?
A team of
engineering students at Ohio State University decided that electric cars
are too slow so they went and built their own, the Buckeye
Bullet.
The
Buckeye Bullet shattered the electric car speed record when it reached
271 miles per hour at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in 2003.
In 2004
the team
of engineering students from Ohio State University were back at
the Bonneville
Salt Flats after tweaking the Buckeye
Bullet and they set a new record for the world's fastest electric car at 314.958 miles per hour.
The Buckeye
Bullet is 30 feet long, two feet
wide and under three feet tall, powered by a 500 horsepower
electric motor containing more than 12,000 nickel-metal hydride
batteries.
