WORLD'S FASTEST SPEED POSSIBLE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What is the fastest speed possible?
Without getting into a very long physics lesson we'll
just say that the fastest possible speed is the speed of light and shed some
light on some speed of light fun facts.
- In a vacuum light travels at:
- 299,792,458 meters per second
- 983,571,056 feet per second
- 1,079,252,848.8 km/h
- 670,616,629.384 MPH
- Light travels one meter in 1/299,792,458 of a
second.
- Light travels 5.87 trillion miles in a year.
- It takes about 8 minutes for the light from the
Sun to reach Earth.
- It takes about 5 1/2 hours for the light from
the Sun to reach Pluto.
- It takes about 4 years for the light from the
Sun to reach Alpha Centauri, the closest star.
- It takes about 5 1/2 hours for the light from
the Sun to reach Pluto.
- Voyager 1, which was launched on September 05,
1977 and is about 9.3 billion miles from Earth, it would take light under 14
hours to reach it from Earth.
