WORLD'S FIRST BIKINI
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the world's first bikini?
Before we expose the first bikini
it is imperative to know what separates a bikini from other two-piece bathing
suits that have been around.
The answer is simple: The belly button. A bikini does
not cover it up as previous bathing suits did.
Image the horror that was caused on July 05 1946 when Louis Reard exposed his skimpy creation to the fashion world of Paris.
Louis Reard could not find a respectable model to wear
the bikini at the fashion show so he finally hired Michèle Bernadini, an exotic
dancer from the Casino de Paris, to wear the world's first bikini.
The bikini got it's name from Bikini Atoll in the
Marshall Islands where just days earlier the fourth atomic bomb was exploded as
a test.
We are still trying to figure out which of these two
events created more heat.
