WORLD'S FIRST TV GUIDE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the world's first TV Guide?
TV guide-like books were born in
1948 replacing leaflets and postcards that were around since 1941.
The first of these TV guide books was the Chicago TV
Forecast which launched on May 09 1948, followed by the New York TV Guide with
an issue date of June 14-20th 1948 and then the Philadelphia Local Televiser on
November 07 1948.
Finally in 1953 the three TV guides merged, went national and the TV Guide we all
know and love was born, the first issue being released on April 3 1953.
The cover featured Lucy's baby, Desi Arnez IV.
Issue price: 15 cents.
