SPACE SHUTTLE FLIGHT

THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What was the world's first space shuttle flight?

On April 12 1981, after almost 11 years since the last Apollo lunar mission flew into space, the Space Shuttle orbiter Columbia lifted off from Kennedy Space Center for the world's first Space Shuttle flight.

Commander John W. Young and Pilot Robert L. Crippen are the two crew members for the STS-1 mission.

After a successful flight the Space Shuttle Columbia returned back to Earth on April 14 1981.
