Milton Berle hosted the world's first telethon raising $100,000.00 for charity.
Milton Berle broadcast for 16 hours straight to benefit
the New York’s Damon Runyon Memorial Cancer Fund.
The telethon came complete with phone operators, which
were models and show girls. The regular looking phone volunteers were sat
backstage.
