What was the world's first Corvette?

On January 17 1953 at the Motorama show at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel a prototype of a "dream car" is shown. It is named the Chevrolet Corvette.

On  June 30 1953 the first Corvette with the serial  number of E53F001001 rolled of the assembly line at Chevrolet Plant Number 35 in Michigan.

In all 315 Corvettes were built in 1953, the original sticker price, just under $3500.00 USD.
