In the 1700's newspaper became the popular choice for one's bathroom cleaning needs.

In 1857 Joseph Gayetty sold the first packaged toilet paper in the US, you got 500 sheets for only $.50 USD.

The first toilet paper roll was packaged and sold in 1879 by the Scott Paper Company.
