WORLD'S FIRST LIGHTHOUSE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What was the world's first lighthouse?

The world's first lighthouse, The Pharos Lighthouse of Alexandria, was built on the island of Pharos, Egypt around 270 B.C. to warn ships of the dangerous sandbars off Alexandria.

It is one of the Seven ancient Wonders of the World.

The Pharos stood anywhere from 400 - 600 feet high, although it is believed to be closer to 400 feet, and was powered by a large bonfire.

It was finally destroyed in the 14th century by a series of earthquakes.
