WORLD'S FIRST SPACE WALK
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

Who made the first space walk?

The honor for being the first person to walk in space goes to General Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov, or Алексе́й Архи́пович Лео́нов if you prefer, of the Soviet Air Force.

After being blasted into space aboard the Voskhod 2 spacecraft, on  March 18, 1965 he made the first ever space walk, lasting about 20 minutes.

Alexei Leonov had problems in re-entering the Voskhod 2 due to his space suit enlarging and he had to let some air leak out to be able to get back inside.

The first woman to walk in space was Svetlana Savitskaya who took her stroll on July 25, 1984 while aboard the Salyut 7 space station.

The credit for the first space walk by an American goes to astronaut Edward White who stepped out for a bit on June 03, 1965 during the Gemini 4 mission.
