Just to bring you up to speed Sir Timothy John "Tim" Berners-Lee put the world's first web site online on August 06 1991.

So the question is, what did he use as a server?

Tim Berners-Lee used a NeXTcube, produced by NeXT Inc. of Redwood City, California, which was a high end Workstation computer during it's production run from 1988 to 1993.
