What is the world's first miss universe?

Started in Long Beach, CA by Catalina Swimwear as a bathing suite competition, the Miss Universe pageant is now the largest beauty pageant in the world.

It all started in June 29 1952 when 29 beauties from around the world competed in the world's first Miss Universe. Armi Kuusela of Finland was crowned the winner.

In 1955 Miss Universe is telecast for the first time.
