The first lp record ever

WORLD'S FIRST LP RECORD
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What is the world's first LP (long play) record?

'The Voice of Frank Sinatra' was originally released in 1946 on four 78 rpm singles consisting of 8 songs.

In 1948 'The Voice of Frank Sinatra' was released in a new 10" 33 RPM unbreakable vinyl LP format (long play) format making it the world's first LP.

The 78 RPM version topped the charts for over 8 weeks while the new version never made it to the charts, most likely as a result that few people owned players that could play the new format.

Here is the list of songs on the album:

  • You Go To My Head

  • Someone To Watch Over Me

  • These Foolish Things

  • Why Shouldn’t I?

  • I Don’t Know Why

  • Try A Little Tenderness

  • A Ghost Of A Chance

  • Paradise
