WORLD'S FIRST AMERICAN
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
Who was the world's first American?
As the British first colonized
America our definition of the first American is the first person born to English
parents in America.
Having said that Virginia Dare born August 18 1587 to Ananias
Dare and Eleanor White on Roanoke Island, North Carolina meets the criteria as
the first American.
Ananias Dare and Eleanor
White were among 117 members to establish England's second colony in
America. Just 27 days after they arrived Virginia was born.
This colony was know as the 'lost colony'. In 1590 when
John White, who originally brought the colonists, returned he
could find no trace of the colonists. The only clues left were 'CRO' carved in
one tree and 'CROATOAN' carved in another. The colonists were never heard from
again.
