WORLD'S FIRST COMPUTER
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What was the world's first computer?

Electronic Numerator Integrator Analyzer and Computer or Eniac for short holds the title for the world's first commercial computer.

Weighing in at 60,000 pounds and filling an entire room Eniac could perform calculations that would take dozens of people to perform.

Completed in 1945 Eniac consisted of over 18,000 vacuum tubes of which 2,000 needed replacing each month.

Eniac was first used for military calculations and had to be programmed each time as it had no means for storing data.

However, in 1941, the world's first electronic computer was up and running.

Colossus was created by Sir Harold Thomas Flower and was used by England's Secret Military Intelligence Decoding Unit and was used for breaking coded NAZI radio transmissions.
