THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What was the world's first Zippo lighter?

The Zippo Manufacturing Company was founded by George G. Blaisdell in Bradford, Pennsylvania in 1932 and in late 1932 George began work on his first Zippo lighter which was finished in January 1933.

The first Zippo lighter was never put up for sale and it resides on display at the Zippo/Case Museum in Bradford, PA, along with a note from George stating "First Zippo lighter - do not touch".

The first Zippo lighters available for sale, 82 in all, were produced and sold in January 1933 and could be had for a zippy $1.95 USD.

All Zippo lighter carry a lifetime warranty so even if you bought one of the original 1933 models, they will fix it or replace it for free, but be warned, they are worth tens of thousands of dollars.
