through three periods the game was scoreless. Overtime solved nothing and the
game went to the shootout.
Philadelphia's Mike Richards scored on Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff while
Philadelphia's goalie, Antero Niittymaki, stopped all the shots.
This gave Calgary and their goalie, Miikka Kiprusoff,
the first recorded shutout loss in the history of the NHL.
