WORLD'S FIRST BATMAN MOVIE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the world's first Batman movie?
The action hero Batman has been
the subject of countless television shows, animation series, and movies. In
these, the central figure, Batman, has been portrayed as everything from a rich
gadget boy, a comedic as well as a heroic figure, to a dark and mysterious
leading man.
But what was the very first Batman
movie? There have been so many movies made in fact that when one considers what
the very first one was, it may be assumed that the feature film Batman, starring
Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson, was the very first Batman movie ever made.
This however is a very incorrect assumption. The first actual Batman movie was a
serial movie that was made in 1943 and was called The Batman.
In this movie, Lewis Wilson plays the part of
Batman and Douglas Croft played the part of Robin. The Batman was directed by
Lambert Hillyer and it had a total of 15 chapters, adding up to a total of 260
minutes. In this original version, there actually was no Batmobile but bats did
live in the Bat Cave.
