Who was the first son of Princess Diana and Prince Charles?

It was just shy of their one-year wedding anniversary, that Princess Diana and Prince Charles welcomed their first son, Prince William of Wales was welcomed into their family on June 21, 1982. Being an immediate member of the Royal Family, Prince William’s grandmother is Queen Elizabeth II, making Prince William second in line for succession of the throne.

As traditional in the Royal Family, Prince William spent most of his study time in the United Kingdom and he spent a year travelling after university, mainly in Chile, Belize, and Africa. He then enlisted in the military and it was there that he served with his brother, Prince Harry. Prince William was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household of Calvary. Two years after serving with brother, he finished his pilot training at Royal Air Force College Cranwell and in 2009 he then transferred to the Royal Air Force where he also earned a promotion to flight lieutenant.

In his personal life, Prince William had also followed family tradition by being closely speculated and followed by the paparazzi. This became especially true in 2003 when the prince began dating Kate Middleton. The two were such a huge hot topic that people were actually taking and making bets on when the royal wedding would take place. After four years of a seemingly lovely relationship, Prince William and Kate broke it off in April 2007 but have been linked back together since the split. Prince William currently resides with his brother, Prince Harry, at the House of Windsor.
