STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
Who won the Tour de France's first yellow jersey?
In the early days of the Tour de
France the winner got to wear a green armband and was was not until 1913 when
the first yellow jersey was awarded.
The honor went to Philippe Thys but he declined feeling
he'd be more of a target if he stood out wearing the yellow jersey.
The first person to actually wear the yellow jersey was
Eugène Christophe in the stage from Grenoble to Geneva on July 18, 1919.
