Who won the first 2010 Olympic medal?

The first event to conclude in the Vancouver 2010 winter Olympics was men's ski jumping on February 13, 2010 with the medals being awarded on February 14, 2010.

The first gold was won by Simon Ammann of Switzerland.

The first silver was won by Adam Malysz of Poland.

The first bronze was won by Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria.

On a side note, on February 14, 2010, by winning gold in men's moguls, Alexandre Bilodeau became the first Canadian to win an Olympic gold medal on Canadian soil.

Up until his victory, after hosting 2 Olympics, Canada was the only country not to win gold while hosting them.
