WORLD'S FIRST OLYMPICS
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

When were the world's first Olympics?

The original Olympic games were held in ancient Greece in the city of Olympia to honor the god Zeus. Only Greek speaking men were allowed to participate.

The first records of the Olympic games dates back to 776 B.C. but it is pretty certain they were held prior to this. The games were held until Roman emperor Theodosius I banned them in 393 A.D.

It took 1503 years until 1896 for the Olympics to be revived with the first modern day summer Olympics being held April 06 to April 15 1896 in Athens, Greece.

The first winter Olympics, called 'The International Winter Sports Week' were held in Chamonix, France from January 25 to February 05 1924.
