Who was the world's first triple crown winner?

The Triple Crown consist of there races, the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes.

The first time the prize was available to be won was in 1875 with the first running of the Kentucky Derby, but it took 44 years for the Triple Crown to be won for the first time, making it perhaps the hardest prize in sports to win.

The world's first Triple Crown winner was Sir Barton ridden by Johnny Loftus in 1919.

Since then only 10 other horses have won the Triple Crown and none since Affirmed won it in 1978.
