When was the Gretzky's first NHL goal?
On October 10 1979 Wayne Gretzky
played his first ever NHL game against the Chicago Blackhawks and although he
did not score, his collected his first assist at 9:49 of the first period when
he set up Kevin Lowe.
On
October 14 1979 at 18:51 of the third period Gretzky beat Glen Hanlon of the
Vancouver Canucks to register his first ever NHL goal.
Wayne Gretzky went on to rack up 51 goals and 86
assists in his rookie season.
He went on to score an amazing 894 goals and 1963
assists during the regular season and an additional 122 goals and 260 assists in
the playoffs.
