What was the world's first smiley?

If you go to any forum they are everywhere, those little funny happy face pictures we know as emoticons.

Our resident archeologist managed to unearth an ancient smiley, and using scientific techniques, was able to ascertain that the smiley was born sometime on September 19 1982 at roughly 11:44 AM.

The smiley was originally posted on a bulletin board by Scott Fahlman and retrieved from back-up tapes in 2002 by Jeff Baird.
