WORLD'S FIRST ROCK VIDEO
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

What was the world's first rock video?

In 1961 Ozzie Nelson filmed a video to his son's, Ricky Nelson, Travelin Man featuring pictures of places mentioned in the song. This video has long been recognized as the world's first rock video.

However, a dispute arises made by Jay Perry  Richardson, the son of J.P. Richardson Jr., better know as The Big Bopper, claiming that his father made a video in 1958 for Chantilly Lace and coined the term 'music video' in 1959.

As an extra, at midnight on August 01 1981 MTV aired it's first music video: Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles.
