The story of the Midlothian Rosslyn chapel.
Midlothian Rosslyn Chapel is the
famous chapel used in the filming of Tom Hanks “The Da Vinci Code”. This chapel
has several ghosts that not too many people are talking about; however, many
actors and actresses have seen and heard various eerie happenings.
The latest incident occurred while rehearsals were
going on for a Festival play in which two of the actors reported seen two
ghosts. One of the cast said the ghost was a fairy like figure which was outside
of the chapel. While another cast member reported seeing the same figure inside
The rehearsal is for A Midsummer Night’s Dream that
is being produced by Nonsense Room Productions based in Roslin.
Simon Beattie is a tour guide at the Midlothian
Rosslyn Chapel and was also an extra in the film The Da Vinci Code. He explained
that it is not unusual for actors to see or hear strange paranormal activity in
and around the chapel.
On one occasion, Simon recalls during a rehearsal
for a Fringe show, he heard a child’s voice coming from the crypt. He yelled at
the child that he was locking up the building. When he went to find the child in
the crypt, there was no one there.
As Simon Beattie explained, no one knows who the
ghosts are or why they come to visit, only that there are ghosts in the chapel.
