THE RED ONION SALOON
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

The story of the Red Onion Saloon.

The Red Onion Saloon in Skagway, Alaska was none other than an original whorehouse built in the gold rush days. The first floor was the saloon as it is still today, but the upstairs of this quaint building was the home to 10 cribs as they were called in 1898, by the ladies, that worked there to satisfy the needs of their clients.

There are not any ladies of the evening living in the upstairs now, except for the ghosts that have decided to stay behind. One employee down in the saloon heard footsteps and then running and pounding upstairs when he knew no one was there that he panicked and called in the police. After investigating all the rooms they did not see anything except for a shadow that mysteriously disappeared into the once madam’s room and then was gone.

The second floor is home to all kinds of eerie and unexplainable happenings such as cold patches, the aroma of perfume, and even the plants upstairs enjoy the unseen hands that water them when the living forget.

Some have seen the form of a woman seeming to go about the chore of watering plants that are no longer there in the Madam’s room.

Anyone that has decided to spend the night on the second floor has had strange things occur such as a shimmering light in the room, or a feeling that someone does not like their presence. This is felt more from men than women.
