one time, a lighthouse keeper lived on St. Martin’s Island
along with his family. His wife passed away and left the man to care
for his children alone. He loved his children and wanted them to get
the best education. He bought a small dory for the children to row to
the mainland in order to go to school every day.

day, go to school and then row the boat back to the lighthouse on St.
Martin’s Island. One spring as the children were rowing back
home from school, a sudden squall overturned the rowboat. The squall
sent the rowboat along with the children to the depths of the lake. The
children were not found.
