The story of the La Moira hauntings - Part 1.
La Moira is a cultural
center located nearby Chapultepec Lake in Mexico City, developed as
an alternative space open to all kind of artistic expressions,
including ghost’s manifestations!
The Moira is a house that was built in
the late 19th century although it did not have a name until a
century later when author Erick Merino wrote the story of "The
Moira" based on this house to describe a mansion in his fictitious
Moira is a Greek name given to one of
the three old women, usually referred as to "The Three Moires" who
are in charge of spinning, knitting, cutting the fate, and plot of
an individual's life.
Merino's project attracted over 90
artists to this house, who have contributed to the story for the
last 15 years painting in the house’s walls passages the story that
suddenly began to come to life.
As the story evolved, the evidence of
haunting activity was more noticeable, suggesting a possible crime
occurred at this house, in which the homeowner was assassinated and
interred behind a wall before the house abandoned was left, until it
was rescued in the 1990’s.
The house by itself has contributed to
the writing of the story of La Moira with the unusual haunting
activity perceived since the entrance. People are convinced that the
ghosts that inhabit this house surpass any fiction or plastic arts.
Today, tarotists, spiritists, wiccans, parapsychologists, and other
scientist usually invoke these entities.
La Moira showcases several art exhibitions, parapsychology
laboratories, theater workshops, story telling presentations,
vampire role-playing, paranormal rituals, and other activities
supported by local organizations such as Dissertations and Vamp-Impro.
Coming close to this house is getting
in touch with unusual experiences, including the spontaneous
manifestation of spooky haunts. However, anyone is invited to
participate in mystical and powerful invocations to call specific
spirits, including Zandra, a ghost identified as the witness of
destiny, or a real assassination occurred here in past times?
