CATFISH PLANTATION RESTAURANT
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
The story of the Catfish Plantation Restaurant.
The owners of the Catfish
Plantation Restaurant in Waxahachie, Texas live with three ghosts! What a
headline. The owners restored and opened this landmark restaurant on July 1,
2004 and still have the ghosts as their houseguests.
The old Victorian House was purchased in 1984, with
the plans of a residence and maintaining a restaurant in another part. Little
did the couple know they would have ghosts to contend with.
The ghosts have names and live very quietly in the
residence. The first one is Caroline. She died in 1970 at the age of 80, it is
believed that she does not know that she has died and still remains in her home.
The second ghost is that of Elizabeth Anderson. She was strangled on her wedding
day at the age of 20. There are speculations on who committed the murder,
however the case was never solved. Some believe it was an ex-boyfriend, an old
girlfriend of her fiancé, or her own husband-to-be. The last known ghost is
Will. He lived in the house during the Depression and was a farmer.
Things that have happened to prove the existence of
ghosts in Catfish Plantation Restaurant:
-
Coffee already prepared before any
one was up and about.
The iced tea urn sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor with all the coffee
cups stacked inside.
-
Coffee cups thrown across the
room, dried chives flying off the shelf, and food flying through the air and
hitting employees, all by unseen hands.
-
Wine glasses are always broken.
-
Knocking on the walls, dishes
rattling, and the appearance of a young woman dressed in a wedding during a
séance.
-
The scent of roses, cold spots,
and the apparitions of Elizabeth in the bay window have been noted by many
guests.
Will, mainly stays on the front
porch dressed in his overalls and disappears if anyone heads his way.
