THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
The story of the Hotel Meade.
Hotel Meade is located inside
Bannack State Park around 25 miles southwest of Dillon, Montana. Today, the
small town may be deserted and only visited once in awhile by tourist, but just
behind the normal range of our perspective lies the ghosts of the past. At one
time, the Hotel Meade was the center of all the excitement and activities of a
well thriving community. The hotel was a makeshift hospital during the war and
then once again began to house miners during the mining boom. However, in the
1940ís the hotel closed its doors for humans and became a place for quiet
solitude of those behind. The entire town was nothing more than broken down
buildings and ghosts of the past.
Many people have seen, heard and observed strange
occurrences in the Hotel Meade and the surrounding areas, which include:
A teenage girl, which drowned on
August 4, 1916. Dorothy Dunn still appears to children wearing a blue dress and
can be seen looking out a second story window.
Another older woman has been seen
peering out a different second window. No one knows her story.
Crying children can be heard
throughout the hotel, which some believe are the cries of the children that
passed away while the hotel was being used as a hospital. On the other hand, the
cries are possibly from the children that were hidden away in the hotel safes
during the Indian attacks.
Cold spots have been noted in many
different locations throughout the hotel.
The hotel is open to visitors and
many love the history surround this small community and of course the town folks
still enjoy their home, so be respectful or they may let you know they are still
