Luana’s Canyon - Slaughterhouse

LUANA’S CANYON
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST

The story of Luana’s Canyon - Slaughterhouse.

In Kingman, Arizona, there is a ghastly tale of a gold miner and his family. It is said today that the ghost still haunt the area.

Everyone has heard about the men and families that rushed off west in the search of gold. Many of these gold seekers found surprises in many aspects from harsh weather to starvation. This is one such tale.

During the 1800’s one miner and his family moved into a small wooden shack that sat along a dry wash in the middle of the canyon. The husband would leave his family and seek gold in the Northwestern Mountains by mule. He would return every two weeks with food for his wife Luana and their children. One month, the gold miner did not come home.

The food soon began to run out and the children were starving. Luana could not bear to see her young babies starve and it is believed that she went insane. As the tale goes, during a thunderstorm she dressed in her wedding gown and chopped her children into many pieces. From there she carried the pieces of her slaughtered children to the river and tossed them in. The next morning, she returned to the river and died while screaming and crying for her dead children.

It is said that if you visit on certain nights, you can still here Luana wailing and crying for her children in the walls of the canyon.
