THE SCHOONER HOTEL
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
The story of The Schooner Hotel.
The Schooner Hotel may not be
talked about much in history books or documentation concerning the goings on in
the hotel may not be found. However, the village of Alnmouth on the coast of
Northumberland was known for its wickedness. Even though it was a legitimate
trading port, it was also home to some very shady characters.
During the 17th century, the hotel was listed as a
coaching inn. Over the past 400 years, it is a place for action and for
tourists. Many famous people enjoyed a night or two resting in this unique
Schooner Hotel, such as the likes of Basil Rathbone, Douglas Bader, Charles
Dickens, and King George III.
Throughout history many ghosts have been seen,
heard, and felt. The stories and rumors of the actual events that may have
caused these ghosts to be haunting the hotel are lost or forgotten. However,
some of the tales include murders, suicides, massacres, and babies being thrown
into roaring fires.
The Poltergeist Society has given the Schooner
Hotel the title of "Most Haunted Hotel in Great Britain" twice. It has been
investigated and is listed on record as having over 60 individual ghosts. The
ghosts have become more active the last few years where they have been over
3,000 sightings reported.
You can visit the Schooner Hotel, spend the night
or stay a week or so. Maybe you can discover a few more than the ones reported
which include a soldier and a small child. However, remember you may be awaken
in the middle of the night by the whispering of disquieted ghosts are loud
screaming in the dark, eerie night.
