What is the world's largest wax museum?

The world's largest wax museum is also the oldest, getting it's start when Philippe Curtius opend an exhibition of life-size wax figures at the Palais Royale in Paris in 1770.

In 1794 Marie Grosholz would inherit Curtius's collection of figures and in 1795 Marie Grosholz would take the collection on tour until 1835 when she would move to a permanent home in The Bazaar, Baker Street, London.

In case you are not quite sure who Marie Grosholz is, she would later go by the name of Madame Tussaud, and the world's largest wax museum is called Madame Tussauds.

Madame Tussauds has opened wax museums in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, New York City, Shanghai, and Hollywood.

Madame Tussauds first wax figure that she made was of Francois Marie Arouet de Voltaire, in 1777.
