The largest wind tunnel at the Ames Research Center measures at just over 1,400 feet in length and 180 feet in height.

The wind tunnel is powered by 6 fans, each with 15 blades, with a total diameter of about 40 feet each. These fans are powered by six 22,500-horsepower motors.
