What is the world's largest catfish?
Fishermen in northern Thailand caught the world's
largest living catfish on May 01, 2005 in the Mekong River.
The bear-sized catfish, a species know as the Mekong
giant catfish, was just under 9 feet long and weighed a fishy 646 pounds.
The catfish did not survive being caught so it was
eaten by local villagers.
You may have noticed we said 'world's largest living
catfish', fact is that there is an even bigger catfish at the Kidder Recreation
Area in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
Wahpper, the world's largest catfish is a fiberglass
sculpture 12 feet high, 40 feet long and weighs a whahpping 5,000 pounds.
