STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What is the world's largest Accordion?
Giancarlo Francenella, from Italy, built the largest
accordion that can actually be played and it was built in Ancona, Italy. The
instrument measures 253 centimetres (99.6 inches) tall, 190 centimetres (74.8
inches) wide, and has a depth of 84 centimetres (33.4 inches.)
Construction on the massive accordion began in 2000
and the accordion was fully complete and ready to be played in 2001. It took
over 1,000 hours to complete the construction of the instrument. It features 45
treble piano keys, 120 brass buttons, and 240 reeds. It is made from different
woods including fir, cedar, mahogany and walnut. It uses two different metals,
which are aluminium and steel and is also comprised of cardboard, different
cloths and special varnishes. It is named after the town where it was built. Its
name is “Castelfidardo.”
