What is the world's largest Cardboard Box?
Smurfit Kappa Van Dam Golfkarton B.V., of Helmond,
Netherlands made an every day object step into the spotlight and receive some
extraordinary attention. This object was a cardboard box. Yes, the same type
that take-out food comes in, is used for moving, and can be used to transport
just about anything. But this particular cardboard box really is like no other.
It is the world’s largest cardboard box ever to be constructed.
Smurfit designed and built the box to measure 10.04
metres in length, 4.02 metres in width, and 2.2 metres in height. Construction
of the box was completed on March 29, 2007.
