What is the world's largest dirndl dress?

A dirndl dress is a traditional German or Austrian dress that is usually worn as formal dress. The dirndl is made of a blouse, skirt, apron, and bodice. Many of the fashions today are taking after the dirndl dress with tight bodices and lacing up the front. While some are looking to start fashion trends with these types of dresses, others are trying to set records.

The world’s largest dirndl dress was made in Germany by Gabriele Fischer. It was unveiled on June 21, 2003and is a true replica of a traditional Bavarian dress. The skirt is measured to be 2.9 meters (9.5 feet) long, and is 9 meters (29.5) in diameter. Although the dress is on a very large scale, it is a perfect size 38 and the skirt is even gathered at the waist in traditional fashion. The sleeves are 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) long. Now that’s a fashion statement!
