EXTRACTED KIDNEY STONE
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the world's largest kidney stone ever extracted?
Ever had the unpleasant experience of passing a kidney
stone? If not, you’ve probably heard somewhere how painful it can be to pass one
of these razor-like stones with jagged edges that form inside the kidney or
bladder. Most of these stones can be passed on their own at their own time
however, some become large enough that some intervention, and possibly even
surgery, is required to remove them.
The kidney stone belonging to Wazir Muhammad s/o
Abbass Ali Jagirani, from Pakistan, was one kidney stone that definitely
couldn’t be passed on its own. Weighing in at 620 grams, or 21.87 ounces, the
stone was far too large to pass on its own and so on June 24, 2008 Wazir had the
stone surgically removed at the Nephro-Urology Chandka Medical College Hospital
in Sindh, Pakistan. The stone went down in the Guinness history books as the
largest kidney stone ever extracted, according to weight.
