MARLIN EVER CAUGHT
THE LONGEST LIST OF THE LONGEST
STUFF AT THE LONGEST DOMAIN NAME AT LONG LAST
What was the world's largest marlin ever caught?
Many people use the term ‘marlin’ and ‘swordfish’
interchangeably, or think that they’re the same thing, but different terminology
is used in different parts of the world. But swordfish and marlins indeed are
different animals, and there’s one marlin that stands out all on its own too.
That’s the world’s biggest marlin ever caught.
Try hanging this one on your wall! The world’s
second largest marlin was caught in 1984 in Kona, Hawaii. The giant fish
measured seventeen feet long and weighed an astonishing 1,656 pounds! The
massive marlin was caught by rod and reel and it took a group of fisherman two
hours and twenty minutes to bring the giant beast in! No word yet on how rods
they went through….
The record for the
largest marlin ever caught dates way back to 1971 when Mike Wachtier, Pat
Morello, Charles Lewis and Gail Choy managed to reel in a 1,805-lb blue marlin.
As Choy was the person to bring the giant fish aboard the boat the marlin
became known as "Choy's Monster."
