What was the world's largest glass of Florida orange juice?
CREATED: May 13, 2010
There’s nothing like a good cold glass of Florida
orange juice in the morning. And not only is it tasty, but it’s good for you
too! And that’s just what the Florida Department of Citrus and the American
Cancer Society are trying to show people just that by creating the world’s
largest glass of Florida orange juice!
During the week of April 19 – April 26, 1998, the
massive glass of orange juice was displayed in a grocery store in Florida in the
hopes that it would get people to pay attention. This week marked National
Minority Cancer Awareness Week and Orange juice has many vitamins and nutrients
that can help fight against things like heart disease and cancer. And while a
boring lecture on the subject might not be enough to get people to take notice,
the huge glass of OJ certainly was!
The world’s largest glass of Florida orange juice
was an actual glass that stood eight feet tall. And how much fresh Florida OJ
does it take to fill a glass that size? 730 gallons! Now that’s definitely the
largest glass of orange juice – from Florida or anywhere else!
