What is the world's largest national park?

The national park of North East Greenland was established in 1974 and expanded in 1988.

The Northeast Greenland National Park is the world's largest national park, in fact it's so large you could fit France and Great Britain in the park and have room left over.

The park is full of fjords, mountains and glaciers and is home to, among other animals, musk oxes, polar bears, walrus, arctic fox, collared lemming, arctic hare, barnacle goose, common eider, snowy owl, and 40 or so permanent human residents.

The Northeast Greenland National Park covers 972,000 square kilometers or 375,000 square miles, accounting for over 1/3 of all of Greenland.
